More Story Details:
Last year, we did a complete wreath tour up and down Duke of Gloucester Street. This year, we decided to slow down and take in some leisurely exploration off the beaten path—focusing on a few of the less-seen handiworks crafted by some of the city's most talented holiday wreath designers.
We also caught glimpses of ice skaters gliding at the Liberty Ice Pavilion, right in the heart of DoG Street, and gladly listened to the live street musicians performing their best renditions of Christmastime tunes in busy Merchant Square.
Our holiday outing took us past the colonial homes of several well-known 18th-century residents of Williamsburg, including George Wythe, Robert Carter, the mayor of Williamsburg, and others.
To cap off our afternoon walk, we dropped into The Christmas Shop to see the beautiful ornaments and collectibles handcrafted by local artisans from the area.
We invite you to come along with us to see everything we saw on this cool yet beautiful December day, just weeks before Christmas in Colonial Williamsburg.
