A general store in Gatlinburg that you have probably passed a time or two on trips downtown, Old Dad’s General Store is packed with everything you might need, from general merchandise and groceries to beverages and, of course, food.
We have stopped in a few times for snacks before heading into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and every visit we noticed the inside grill cafe. It serves a long list of sandwiches, sides, and other favorites, but somehow we never made the time to place an order.

Today was different. We overslept and did not get out of bed until nearly noon. Being close by, we thought this would be the perfect day to finally check off another cafe in Gatlinburg from our list. Every time we walked past, the aroma from the kitchen had been impossible to ignore.
The menu offers breakfast biscuits, made-to-order sandwiches, and plenty of lunch favorites that could satisfy just about any craving. Conveniently located inside this old-time general store, Old Dad’s has a little bit of everything for everyone.
The clock was close to noon when Sarah and I rolled out of bed, jumped in the van, and headed there for lunch and a look around.
