A Summertime Beach Outing | Currituck Outer Banks, North Carolina OBX

Story Description:

The Currituck Outer Banks is home to beautiful sandy beaches, crashing ocean waves, and countless stories hidden beneath the vast blue waters.

We set out on a trip with my daughter to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to give her first visit to this popular tourist destination.

Near the northernmost part of Currituck in Corolla, we enjoyed an afternoon beachside family outing. We refreshed our minds, soaked in the salty ocean air, and dipped our toes into the rushing waters just a couple of hours before high tide.

More Story Details:

The beaches around Corolla are also famous for wild horses roaming freely. Although we did not venture out in search of these historic animals on this trip, we were set on experiencing the natural wonders of the Outer Banks and creating new family memories at one of the Currituck Outer Banks public beach access points.

Join our family as we explore surfside in the Outer Banks, also known as the OBX, a 200-mile string of barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia. See what we saw from the sandy shores below and from high above in the Carolina skies.
